Jack Hall, Chair
Appointed by the Minister of Finance

Jack currently serves as chair of the Foundation, working with the other governors and the CEO to set the organization’s direction and ensure that the means are in place to enable goals to be achieved. A 35-year career in senior management with government corporations and ministries dealing with crown lands, along with an education in agricultural economics from UBC, formal training in real estate appraisal, and volunteer service with a number of community organizations have equipped Jack with knowledge and skills applicable to his current role. As proprietor of CSM Services, a consultancy practice in land management, and as a part time member of the Property Assessment Appeal Board, Jack claims he is only semi-retired. He does, however, find time for numerous outdoor recreational pursuits, international travel, and reading.

Eileen Smith, Vice-Chair
Appointed by the Real Estate Council of BC

As a governor of the Foundation, Eileen’s job is to enhance good land stewardship by soundly reviewing grant applications and working wtih the board and CEO to ensure the finances of the Foundation are well managed. With over 40 years of experience in real estate, including managing a large real estate brokerage firm of 200 sales associates and serving on several boards, Eileen brings a thorough knowledge of the real estate industry, good governance, and consensus building to the table. Eileen received her Real Estate Broker designation from UBC. Eileen gets a lot of joy from mentoring female entrepreneurs, traveling, and golfing.

Stephen Mullock
Appointed by the Real Estate Institute of BC

Stephen is currently in the second term of a three year appointment by the Real Estate Institute of BC to the Real Estate Foundation. Along with the other governors, Stephen’s role includes the difficult task of assigning limited financial resources to worthwhile grant applications. Stephen also is the current chair of the Fraser Valley Chapter of the Real Estate Institute of BC, past president and governor of the Real Estate Institute of BC, past president and director of the Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board, past chair of the Agassiz Library Society, and past director of the Chilliwack YMCA. With a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC and professional membership in the Real Estate Institute since 1983, Stephen has 30 years experience in the real estate industry. He brings a natural curiosity and a propensity for asking a lot of questions to the team.

Kelly Lerigny
Appointed by the BC Real Estate Association
 
Kelly is a residential realtor in the Chilliwack area with 22 years experience who shares the responsibilities of the Foundation’s governance with the other board members. In her previous role as past president of the BC Real Estate Association, Kelly was the Quality of Life champion for the province and across Canada. Kelly’s hobbies include boating, cooking, and searching for fine wines.
 
“The Foundation’s goals are so aligned with my personal convictions about responsible and innovative land use and my passion for the environment that being a governor is a natural fit--it doesn’t even seem like work.”
 
 
Jack Wong
Appointed by the Minister of Finance
 
As Assistant Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer for The Vancouver Board of Trade, Jack is responsible for its overall financial and administrative functions. With 10 years experience in the not-for-profit sector, coupled with an additional 10 years in real estate development and construction, Jack brings strategic planning, collaborative focus, and a low panic threshold to the Foundation. Jack received a Bachelor of Commerce & Business Administration from the Sauder School of Business, UBC and has a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation. Jack’s other roles include the city appointee and current chair of the Richmond Museum Society; current BC chapter executive chair and member of National Leaders Council for the Canadian Society of Association Executives; and mentor in the Sauder School of Business MBA mentorship program.
